SphereMessage currently uses an email address for verification, recovery, security and support. The app also processes the profile details, messages, media, location choices and activity you provide while using its features. This information is described below.
01 — Overview
About this Privacy Policy
SphereMessage is a social-discovery platform designed to help adults discover and communicate with people through shared interests, intentions, current vibes and nearby activities.
This Privacy Policy explains what information SphereMessage processes, why it is used, how it may be shared, how long it may be retained and the choices available to you.
By creating an account or continuing to use SphereMessage, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
02 — Age requirement
SphereMessage is for adults aged 18 and above
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use SphereMessage. People under 18 are not permitted to use the service.
If we reasonably believe that an account belongs to someone under 18, we may restrict, suspend or delete that account and remove its associated information where appropriate.
Providing false age information may result in account suspension or permanent removal.
03 — Information we process
Information connected to your use of SphereMessage
Email address
Email is the only personal contact detail currently required by SphereMessage. It may be used to verify your account, send security codes, support account recovery, respond to support requests and communicate important service or safety information.
Your email address is not displayed publicly to other users.
Profile information
You may choose to provide information such as:
- Username, display name, biography and profile photographs.
- Age, gender and matching preferences.
- Hobbies, interests, love languages and vibe tags.
- Friendship, dating, networking or Hangout intentions.
- Social energy, weekend preferences and other matching details.
Sphere Radar and location
When you grant location permission or enable nearby visibility, SphereMessage may process location information to recommend nearby people, Hangouts or Moments, calculate approximate distance and operate Sphere Radar.
You may disable location permission through your device settings. Some Radar and nearby discovery features may not work properly after location access is disabled.
SphereMessage is designed not to display your exact coordinates or precise home address to other users.
Hangout information
When you create, join, save or interact with a Hangout, we may process:
- Hangout name, description, date, time, category and vibe.
- General location or meeting venue.
- Cover image, organizer details and participant limit.
- Attendance, interest, join requests, invitations and participant status.
- Views, saves, reports and other Hangout activity.
Moment information
When you create or join a Moment, we may process:
- Moment title, type, creator, members and participation status.
- Join codes, invitation links and entry settings.
- Messages, photographs, media and other content shared in the Moment.
- Creation, participation, expiry and moderation timestamps.
- Reports and safety-related records.
Chats, posts and user content
SphereMessage processes content that you choose to create or send, including:
- Private messages and Moment messages.
- Images, media and profile photographs.
- Posts, Confessions, comments, reactions and feedback.
- Reports, blocks and safety complaints.
Activity and matching signals
To provide recommendations, SphereMessage may process activity including profiles viewed, interests sent or received, Hangouts saved or joined, Moments created or joined, active vibes, recent activity, matching preferences, blocks, reports and other interaction signals.
Device and technical information
SphereMessage and its service providers may process technical information needed to run, protect and improve the service, such as device type, operating system, app version, internet protocol address, activity timestamps, installation identifiers, push-notification tokens, crash reports, logs and diagnostic information.

Why SphereMessage processes information
We may use information to:
- Create, verify, protect and maintain user accounts.
- Operate profiles, Sphere Radar, Vibing Now, Hangouts, Moments and chats.
- Recommend people and activities based on interests, intentions, location choices and activity.
- Deliver messages, notifications, security codes and support responses.
- Prevent fake accounts, spam, scams, fraud, harassment and abuse.
- Investigate reports and enforce community and safety rules.
- Diagnose errors, improve features and maintain service reliability.
- Comply with applicable law and valid legal requests.
SphereMessage does not sell users' personal information and does not use private messages for third-party advertising.
05 — What other users can see
Information you choose to share
Depending on your settings and the feature you use, other users may see:
- Your username, profile picture, biography and selected profile information.
- Your age, interests, vibe, intentions and general location.
- Your public posts, Confessions, Hangouts and public participation status.
- Your membership in a Moment where membership is visible.
- Messages and media you deliberately send or share with them.
Do not share passwords, financial details, government identification numbers, exact home addresses or other highly sensitive information through profiles, Hangouts, Moments or chats.
Content received by another user may be copied, saved or screenshotted outside SphereMessage.
07 — Safety and moderation
Keeping the Sphere safer
SphereMessage may review content reported by a user or identified as potentially violating community or safety rules.
Access to reported content should be limited to authorised people who need it for moderation, technical support, legal compliance or abuse investigation.
Users may block or report accounts involved in harassment, impersonation, threats, scams, unsolicited sexual content or other prohibited behaviour.
08 — Retention and deletion
How long information may be kept
SphereMessage retains information only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, provide requested features, maintain safety, investigate reports, resolve disputes and comply with legal obligations.
Moment messages and media may be retained for up to 30 days after a Moment ends for safety, abuse investigation, dispute handling and service reliability, unless a longer period is legally required.
When an account is deleted, associated personal information will be deleted or anonymised within a reasonable period, except where limited retention is needed for security, fraud prevention, unresolved reports, legal compliance or the protection of other users.
Copies may remain temporarily in secure backups before they are automatically overwritten or removed.
Deleting your account or data
You may request deletion through SphereMessage's account or privacy settings when available, or by emailing spheremessage@gmail.com.
We may ask you to verify the email connected to your account before completing the request.
Deleting an account may not remove:
- Messages already delivered to another user.
- Content another user independently saved or screenshotted.
- Information that must be retained for legal, safety or fraud-prevention reasons.
- Anonymous or aggregated information that can no longer identify you.
09 — Your privacy rights
Your choices and requests
Subject to applicable law, you may ask to:
- Access personal information held about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Delete your personal information.
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Withdraw consent previously given.
- Receive certain information in a portable format.
- Complain about how your information has been handled.

10 — Emails and notifications
Service communications
SphereMessage may send:
- Email verification and security codes.
- Account recovery and safety messages.
- Important service announcements.
- Responses to support and privacy requests.
- Push notifications relating to activity inside the app.
You may manage push notifications through your app or device settings. Promotional communications, if introduced, will provide an appropriate way to unsubscribe.
11 — Security and international processing
Protecting information
SphereMessage uses reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorised access, misuse, alteration, disclosure or loss.
No online service can guarantee complete security. You should protect your verification details and immediately report suspicious activity.
International processing
Some cloud or technical service providers may process information outside Nigeria. Where this occurs, SphereMessage will take reasonable steps to use appropriate safeguards under applicable data-protection requirements.
12 — Changes to this policy
Policy updates
SphereMessage may update this Privacy Policy when features, technology, legal requirements or data practices change.
The updated version will show a revised “Last updated” date. Where appropriate, users may also be notified inside the app or by email when a change materially affects their privacy.
